New to breastfeeding or feeling unsure?

1. Any Breastfeeding Is a Win

Whether it’s a few days, a few weeks, or longer—breastfeeding has health benefits for both baby and mom. There’s no one “right” length of time.

2. Pumping Is Breastfeeding Too

You can nurse, pump, combo-feed, or do what works best for your life. Pumping helps keep up milk and gives others a way to help with feedings.

3. Store Milk Safely

Fresh milk lasts 4 hours at room temp, 4 days in the fridge, and 6 months in the freezer. Label with the date and use the oldest milk first.

4. Ask for Help Early

Lactation consultants, WIC, or your local clinic can help with latching, supply, or pumping questions—for free!
