What You’ll Need:
-
4–6 sheets of colored construction paper (or cut-up file folders)
-
Clear floor space (hallway, playroom, etc.)
-
A favorite upbeat kids’ song or nursery rhyme
-
Optional: painter’s tape, shape stickers, or printed animals to add variety
Steps:
-
Lay out the colored paper in a line or zig-zag on the floor.
-
Tell your child the rules: “When the music plays, hop from one color to the next!”
-
Add a fun twist: Call out colors (“Find red!”), or actions (“Stomp on blue! Spin on green!”).
-
Let them lead: Some kids prefer to move freely with the music. That’s great too!
-
Keep it short and fun: 5–10 minutes is perfect to help little bodies and brains settle down.
