How To Practice

  1. Explain that anger can feel like a fire growing inside our bellies.

  2. Sit together and place a hand on your belly.

  3. Breathe in through your nose, then blow the air out strongly like a dragon breathing fire.

  4. Repeat until your child’s body feels calmer.

 

Why it works:
Deep belly breathing helps slow the nervous system and gives children a physical way to release strong emotions.
