How To Practice

  1. Watch a short clip from a familiar show or movie.

  2. Ask your child what the characters might be feeling.

  3. Talk about why the character might feel that way.

  4. Brainstorm what the character could do to feel better.

Why this helps:
When children practice identifying emotions in others, it becomes easier for them to recognize and talk about their own feelings.
