Use consistent routines, transitions, and classroom organization to help children feel safe and confident.
Teach & Reinforce Skills
Plan and practice routines, procedures, and social-emotional skills like empathy, problem-solving, and self-regulation.
Use Positive Language
Tell children what to do (e.g., “Please walk”) rather than what not to do.
Offer Choices
Give children appropriate choices to build independence and reduce power struggles.
Monitor & Support
Actively supervise, check in with children, and partner with families and specialists when behaviors are challenging.
