-
Instrumental or classical music
-
Paper
-
Markers, crayons, colored pencils, or paint
How to do it:
-
Have your child sit or lie comfortably and take slow breaths for one minute with their eyes closed.
-
Ask what sounds they noticed.
-
Play instrumental music and listen quietly together.
-
Ask your child what they noticed about the music (Was it fast or slow? Loud or soft?).
-
Invite your child to draw or paint what the music makes them feel.
Tip for parents:
You can gently introduce the idea that colors can match emotions (for example, yellow for happy or blue for calm), but let your child’s interpretation lead the activity.
