1. Wait Until About 6 Months
Look for signs: baby can sit up with support, shows interest in food, and has good head control. Always check with your doctor if unsure.
2. Start with Soft, Single Foods
Try mashed veggies, plain oatmeal, or pureed fruits. Introduce one new food at a time every 3–5 days to watch for allergies.
3. No Need for Fancy Baby Food
You can mash or blend what you’re already eating—just skip added salt, sugar, or honey (no honey before age 1!).
4. Watch for Allergies Early
Peanut, egg, and other allergens can be safely introduced around 6 months, unless your doctor says otherwise. Start small and monitor closely.
